Bundaberg Central Plaza will be a $120 million, 18,000sqm lifestyle/convenience centre located on the corner of Walla and Park Streets (adjacent to the CBD) offering a diverse experience and bringing new retailers and brands including mini majors supermarket, food court and lifestyle/leisure/convenience specialty stores.

Insight Group identified Bundaberg as a city with a population and growth that required a lifestyle convenience centre to accommodate the needs of the expanded Burnett Shire centre. This was confirmed by the economic research the company comissioned.
Significantly, the research established that around 25% of retail expenditure leakage from Bundaberg with local residents regularly travelling to centres such as Hervey Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane for a more comparable retail offer.
38% of respondents said they felt a need to go elsewhere to access the products they wanted and 51% identified a range of additional facilities and services they would like to see in Bundaberg.
